PMRC Scheme 2026 | Bring Indian-Origin Researchers Abroad Back to India’s Research Institutions (Deadline 15 July 2026)

The Prime Minister’s Research Coalition (PMRC) Scheme 2026 is a Government of India initiative that connects globally experienced Indian-origin researchers and professionals currently working abroad with leading academic institutions and national research laboratories in India. Eligible candidates can submit applications until 15 July 2026. There is no application fee.

The scheme has been launched to strengthen research and innovation in India by bringing experienced global talent into the country’s academic and scientific institutions. Who Can Apply

The PMRC Scheme is open to Indian-origin researchers and professionals currently working abroad. The scheme offers opportunities for researchers at different career stages through three fellowship tracks. Applications opened on 1 June 2026 through the official PMRC portal.

The Young Research Fellow (YRF) track is for researchers with less than five years of post-PhD experience.

The mid-career track is for candidates with five to less than ten years of post-doctoral experience.

The senior track is for experienced researchers with at least ten years of post-PhD experience and a strong record of research leadership.


How to Apply

Interested candidates can apply through the official PMRC portal. Applicants need to register either as a Fellow or as a Host Institution. The process involves completing the online application form, uploading the required information, and submitting a research proposal before the deadline.
